Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Amazing dinner. Was a birthday celebration for my nephew. Went overboard ordering 4 small plates and four large plates plus garlic naan (knowing heโd have lots of leftovers). Stand outs were the Galouti Kabab and the Zafrani Chicken Tikka. Exceptional was the Dal Makhani - comparable to that of Michelin-starred Indienne. And the Swadesh cocktail with the smoke reveal was just pure fun and tasty. Service was friendly but almost too attentive. Will definitely be coming back.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The food was flavorful and delicious. Becky, our waitress, was friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu to us. The bartender showed us the homemade infusions and the drinks were awesome. The atmosphere is upscale, clean, and inviting. The owner stopped by our table and was friendly and welcoming. You can really tell this place takes pride in both their food and hospitality. Highly recommend!

We were truly impressed with this place. Everythingโfrom the food and service to the ambianceโwas excellent. The appetizers were amazing and incredibly flavorful, and the mains were just as good, with bold flavors and very generous portions. The music created a great atmosphere as well. The drinks were amazing as well. I got Swadesh and Iโd order that drink every time. Well balanced smoky flavor and just the right amount of liquor. As a thoughtful touch, the staff overheard that we were celebrating a birthday and even changed the music to the Happy Birthday song, which made the moment feel extra special. Not just in Chicago, but overall, this was one of the better dining experiences weโve had. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend. A great new restaurant addition in the tri-city area serving indian cuisine. We tried several dishes- all delicious. Only the dessert was a bit dry and bland. Otherwise, everything was superb! Service was impeccable. Interiors are modern and upscale. Certainly an elevated experience. Menu is well thought of and well portioned. On the pricier side but worth an occasional visit. Definitely try it out! And i hope the team maintains its quality.

This place is WOW. Iโm so grateful Vatan made its way to St. Charles. The aesthetics of the place, the food quality, the ambience and the owners are spectacular. My husband and I were so impressed by their food. And just a quick tip, with their food being the most authentic, the spice level is fire, literally ๐. If you order a mildly spicy dish, it will taste more like medium. I would highly recommend this place. Iโm excited to see how this place grows and thrives! We werenโt shy to try a little bit of everything and no regrets. Also, the recommendation we got on the sweet naan bread for our little boy was perfect! Thank you!
